This coverage is a trip down memory lane for Mike Guidry, USAR Board Member.
He states, "I have been to Bolivia to play at that club and stay at that hotel 3 times.
It is a fantastic set-up and one of my favorite places in the world to play!"
Jim Hiser is forwarding great pictures and details each step of the way. Just a couple of hours after the Opening Ceremonies were over, pictures had made their way back to the US along with Jim's commentary:
"The Opening Ceremonies were excellent and well attended. Over 500 local people came out for the festivities. Additionally, the president of Bolivia and the mayor of Cochabamba were on hand to welcome the visitors from 15 countries. Bands, local dancers, fireworks -- I think the players and parents were completely impressed.
"Earlier today, the US Juniors went on an escorted sightseeing trip to the local market and received a REAL education—raw meat hanging from hooks, anything and everything you would want to buy—local art, etc."
Sixteen countries...185 players...and the draws are posted!
