2022 - Linda Mojer

Residence: Edgewater, FL
Date of Birth: July 19, 1954

It is significant and noteworthy that 96 print editions of RACQUETBALL Magazine and over a dozen websites testify to Linda Mojer’s unmatched contributions to the sport. At the start, she was drawn in as a player, volunteer organizer, and ardent promoter. Later, she sparked technical innovation at the national level, bringing old and new media together to advance the sport in groundbreaking ways.

As an administrator, Linda has served 30+ years on state association boards, as a founding director and President of the Florida Racquetball Association in the 80s, followed by service to the Colorado Racquetball Association that continues to this day. She was elected to the National Board of Directors twice (AARA and USAR); was appointed to special interest and pro tour boards multiple times; and shared in developing a unique non-profit benefit event that boasts a 20-year legacy. Constantly involved in consulting, editing, and crafting promotional material for organizations, events, and careers,Linda has certified numerous Hall of Fame bids for others.

Over four decades, Linda cultivated an insider’s point of view as a player who rose through state skill levels, sought national ranking position in her age groups, and inspired countless others to join her in filling a draw “just for fun.” Along the way, she earned three national doubles titles (1993, 97, 98); competed internationally; earned a silver World Senior finish in 1996; took state championships (2004, 06, 07); and captured an exclusive Outdoor Nationals singles crown in

1990. Between 1980 and 2010, her influence was felt at 5-10 local tournaments per year – both on the courts and behind the desk – where she shared an enthusiasm for the sport, its rules, its fitness benefits and governing bodies.

Those same on-court experiences informed and enhanced Linda’s promotion of the sport to greater audiences. In her public relations role, sharing a firsthand knowledge with reporters enabled her to interact effectively with print and broadcast media. She spoke with the authority of a professional communicator, a governing body official, a publisher, and a trained journalist as well as that of a seasoned competitor in the sport itself. Her standards of reporting to media were impeccable and fostered high regard for racquetball over many years. Beyond her drive to level the playing field for the sport and its athletes, Linda Mojer's portfolio of publications, promotions, influence, and outreach qualifies her for Hall of Fame induction. Throughout her efforts at every level of engagement,Linda shared a joy of the game itself and generated a positive and lasting legacy: a body of work that influenced, and continues to impact, the sport –– past, present, and future.
