Colorado Springs, CO -- USA Racquetball has announced the appointment of Mike Grisz (Herndon, Virginia) to Executive Director. Mike assumes this position in an unpaid capacity to support the association and the sport. With this move to the role of USAR Executive Director, Mike immediately vacates his seat on the National Board of Directors, which he has held since 2020, and he has resigned his leadership role with the International Racquetball Tour (IRT).

In his volunteer position as Executive Director, Mike will not be compensated relative to salary or benefits. He said, “I feel I owe this to the sport that has contributed so much to my life.”

Mike possesses experience as a CPA, CFA, and CFP. He has a deep understanding of, and history with, racquetball. He began playing in 1974 and has won numerous national medals and titles. Mike’s past racquetball involvement includes serving as president of the Texas Racquetball Association (TXRA) from 2015-17, and he has been Chairman and then CEO of the IRT over the past five years. With his financial background and connections within the racquetball community, Mike will seek to strengthen USA Racquetball’s service to its members and to the sport, stating, “We need to maintain and strengthen our connection with the racquetball community, which will be my primary goal. We will work to enhance the US OPEN and all of the other National Events. I’m looking forward to a challenging and humbling experience. I encourage anyone to call or email me with comments, suggestions, or questions.”

"At a time where the association is still recovering from a reduced membership base, the Board is grateful that Mike is able to volunteer his time and attention as the Executive Director," said Stewart Solomon, President of the USA Racquetball Board of Directors. "I look forward to working closely with Mike in his new capacity to make improvements the members, the Board, and the sport all agree are needed."
