Academic Eligibility Requirements:
An undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university, herein referred to as “school”, shall be eligible to compete in the U.S. National Intercollegiate Championships if they meet the following requirements:

* are a full-time student as defined by the “school” at which player is enrolled, * are enrolled in a regularly matriculated degree program at the “school” for which academic and competition eligibility is to apply,

two-year and four-year programs (certificate programs not eligible) * Student must be in good academic standing at the “school” in which the player is enrolled


Academic Eligibility Requirements cont'd :
* have been enrolled full time at the same “school” for one complete term immediately prior to - and including - the term in which the competition is scheduled. 


Academic Eligibility Requirements - Exceptions cont'd:
Exceptions: Students taking the final courses that are necessary to obtain their degree in the semester in which the competition is scheduled are not required to be enrolled full-time. 


Academic Eligibility Requirements -Exceptions cont'd:
Graduate students engaged in research, teaching or thesis production which will lead toward the awarding of a degree are eligible, as long as they are enrolled full-time and have not used their four years of college eligibility.


Competition Eligibility Requirements:
Athletes must have college eligibility remaining to participate in the USA Racquetball National Intercollegiate Championship. Athletes must be current USA Racquetball members in good standing. Membership must be paid prior to being added to the draw. 


ELIGIBILITY APPEALS/WAIVER APPLICATIONS:
Must be made in writing to the Collegiate Committee no later than February 16th. Appeals and Waivers will not be considered after this date. peggine@usra.org 


VERIFICATION: MANDATORY:
A list of all participants, certified by the registrar (bearing official seal) and indicating name, status, and the number of hours enrolled, shall be sent to the tournament director prior to competing in the national intercollegiate championship. 


OPEN TEAM TITLE DIVISIONS: 
Schools seeking national team titles in either Division I or Division II (see "Scoring" section) may field one men's team and one women's team, comprised of singles players #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6; doubles teams #1, #2, #3. 


OPEN TEAM TITLE DIVISIONS: cont'd:
If someone is playing in Team Title Division Singles, they may not play in Skill Division Singles, but may play in Skill Division Doubles. 


OPEN TEAM TITLE DIVISIONS: cont'd:
If a school is competing in Division II, it must be documented on the application, otherwise that school will be entered into Division I, regardless of classification.


SKILL DIVISIONS: 
Schools with "extra" players may field a separate roster of skill division players who will compete for individual ranking – but advances in these rounds will not count toward national team titles. 


SKILL DIVISIONS: cont'd:
In singles, maximum four players per school may enter A/B - C/D. In doubles, two teams each category may be fielded in Men's, Women's, Mixed, A/B - C/D. Numbered singles may not enter the skill singles, the same for numbered doubles. 


U.S. TEAM DIVISION -#1 Singles:
Players seeking a position on the U.S. Team must play in the #1 Singles division. If the winner is ineligible or declines the appointment, then the 2nd place finisher may elect to fill the appointment 


U.S. TEAM DIVISION -#1 Singles cont'd:
If 2nd place finisher is not able to accept the appointment, then position goes vacant.


OFFICIATING:
Match losers are required to referee. Players who do not referee will be penalized 500 points (from team total). Semi finalist losers must line judge for #1 & #2 Gold Finals.


REFEREE TESTING: :
All Players are required to take the online Singles and Doubles Referee Test prior to the event unless you have previously passed these tests. The test is FREE!! However, its a good idea to review the rules prior to the beginning of competition

STARTING TIME CONFLICT RESOLUTION:
Send email to jhiser@usra.org with name/divisions/school by March 25 3pm MT


CHECK IN:
Early check-in will be held from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday, March 29 and continue during the event.


PLAY BEGINS:
Matches BEGIN 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30. No exceptions. Report to event desk 30 minutes prior to match, you may be called to play earlier than scheduled.

 

Awards Banquet:
Players Banquet ticket is included in their entry. Extra tickets will be available at the registration desk for $20 each. Saturday 7:00pm location TBA 


ALL-AMERICANS:
The top four (4) finishers in each of the men's and women's gold singles divisions 1-6 will be classified as the 2016 Intercollegiate Racquetball All-Americans.
